June 13, 2007 | Leave a Comment
Junior confirmed all of the recent rumors swirling about today with his announcement that he’ll drive for Hendrick Motorsports in 2008, announcing a five year deal with the team. Kyle Busch ended up being the odd man out (in more ways than one), getting the boot from the Hendrick team in order to make room […]

March 24, 2007 | Leave a Comment
Despite all his griping about the COT, Jeff Gordon piloted his to the pole at Bristol on Friday. Jeff didn’t seem to be overwhelmed by love for the car, though, or to develop any new fondness for it:
“I’ve said the whole time, whether I like the car or not, we are going to do our […]

Scott Pruett Probably Isn’t Sending Juan Pablo Montoya a Christmas Card this Year
March 7, 2007 | 1 Comment
I’m obviously a bit late with a recap of Juan Pablo Montoya’s first win on Sunday in NASCAR racing, taking the victory in the Busch race held in Mexico city, but here’s my belated two cents:
Put a sock in it, Mr. Pruett.
Yeah, I know. It sucks. This was your chance to shine, as far as […]

Umm, Yeah, Go Matt Kenseth (Yawn)
February 27, 2007 | 2 Comments
Something about a Matt Kenseth victory manages to immediately wipe away most of my short-term memory of the actual race and causes less-than-excitement within my bosom. I mean, Matt’s a decent enough guy, and I don’t root against him. But I also don’t root for him, so every time he wins my reaction is always […]

Your 2007 Daytona Champion?

Kevin Harvick.
Not exactly going out on a limb here, but give me some credit for not picking Tony, as the bulk of the masses are (and for good reason). I’d like to go with my heart and pick Junior but for whatever reason I think Happy is going to take the victory today.
Other random prognostications, […]

Now that the Byzantine, contorted qualifying for the Daytona 500 is over, let’s look at some highlights and lowlights from the first week of the 2007 NEXTEL Cup season.

Michael Waltrip joined all the bad kids in detention today, with NASCAR suspending his crew chief and team director indefinitely and docking the driver 100 points before the season has even begun.
“We’ve got people’s attention now,’’ NASCAR competition director Robin Pemberton said Wednesday.
Waltrip, a two-time Daytona winner, lost his crew chief and team director right […]

NASCAR Drops the Hammer on “Cheaters” at Daytona 500

NASCAR seems to be growing a bit of a spine when it comes to punishing teams when rule infractions are found, as the penalties just doled out for various trangressions at this years Daytone 500 include:
